We’re delighted to share some fantastic news! Elen Roberts has been awarded a distinction in her MSc in Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences from The University of Manchester.

An especially impressive accomplishment is her final dissertation, which also received a Distinction:
“An evaluation of orphan drug refusals by the European Medicines Agency between 2010 and 2025 – do differences in regulatory decisions between the EU and US point to a need for harmonisation of legislation across the main pharmaceutical markets?”

Elen’s achievement is even more remarkable given the dedication and commitment she has shown while balancing her studies alongside her full-time role and is a testament to her hard work, resilience, and passion for the pharmaceutical industry.

Elen joined Seda in 2019 as a Pharmaceutical Scientist, after graduating from the University of Leeds with a BSc in Medical Sciences. She spent five years in the Pharmaceutical Development division as a formulation scientist, developing pre-clinical and clinical client drug products with a focus on oral drug delivery (tablets, capsules, oral solutions and suspensions, semi-solid matrices) and a particular interest in amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs).

In 2024 Elen transferred into our Clinical Manufacturing division where she supported the establishment of our GMP capabilities. As our GMP Operations Manager, Elen now plays a key role in ensuring Seda supply high quality non-sterile oral dosage products for our Clients’ clinical trials.
