Environmental Policy

Purpose 

Seda Pharma Development Services Ltd (and its subsidiaries) is committed to environmentally responsible operations. This policy outlines our dedication to understanding and reducing our environmental footprint, preventing pollution, and supporting climate resilience and a low-carbon future. It provides a framework to guide sustainable practices and ensure our activities positively impact the environment and the communities we serve, in line with the relevant UN Guidelines (The 17 Goals | Sustainable Development). 

Scope  

This policy applies to all operations of the Seda Group, including facilities, processes, products, services and supply chains. It covers all employees, contractors, suppliers, and third parties acting on Seda’s behalf. It also extends to the goods and services we procure and the activities we deliver, including laboratory, consultancy, modelling, manufacturing and testing. 

Responsibility 

The implementation of this policy is the responsibility of Seda’s leadership team, with support from all employees. Environmental performance will be monitored and reviewed regularly to ensure alignment with our strategic goals and regulatory obligations. 

Environmental Commitments 

Compliance – Seda is committed to complying with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards. We continuously review and improve our practices to enhance environmental performance and uphold industry best practices. 

Sustainable Laboratory Practices – Seda promotes green chemistry, minimises hazardous substances, ensures safe waste disposal, and adopts energy- and water-efficient technologies in all lab operations. Seda will seek accreditation for key laboratory staff through the My Green Lab organisation. 

Waste Management – Seda adopts the waste hierarchy and aims to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials wherever possible, ensuring safe and compliant disposal of pharmaceutical and laboratory waste. 

Energy & Resource Efficiency – Seda optimises energy, water, and material use by implementing efficient practices, promoting conservation, and encouraging renewable and low-carbon technologies. 

Sustainable Procurement – Seda prioritises environmentally sustainable products and services, working with suppliers who share our values and consider the environmental impact in all procurement decisions. 

Employee Engagement & Training – Seda fosters a culture of environmental responsibility by providing staff with training, resources, and opportunities to support sustainability initiatives and reduce our environmental impact. 

Communication & Reporting – Seda is committed to transparent communication on environmental performance, regularly reporting progress and welcoming stakeholder feedback to support continuous improvement. 

Seda has committed to SBTi targets for the parent company as follows: 

We are committed to maintaining zero Scope 1 emissions, achieving a 37.8% reduction in absolute Scope 2 emissions by 2029 compared to our 2023 baseline, and continuing to measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions across key categories: Purchased Goods and Services, Capital Goods, Upstream Transportation and Distribution, Waste Generated in Operations, Business Travel, Employee Commuting, and Downstream Transportation and Distribution. 

The assessment and setting of targets will be repeated for the new manufacturing division in 2026. 

Review 

This policy will be reviewed annually or as required to encompass any new parts of the business and to reflect changes in legislation, operations, or environmental priorities.
